Pontoon Boats: The Poor Person’s Luxury Boat
Pontoon boats use floating, buoyant tubes mounted in a perpendicular fashion to
create a counterweight chamber that supports objects above the water. These
materials are very lightweight. The smaller pontoon boats are called rafts while
the larger size boats are called houseboats.
This type of boat can be found all around the world as they are favorable in all
types of coastal waters. Some people use these boats to fish. The average fish
caught while fishing on a pontoon boat is five or more per person, usually four
people, since you can easily maneuver each corner of this square shaped vessel.
You can use any type of motor with a pontoon boat but the most common is an
outboard motor. When fishing, you can use a trolling motor as well. Typically
these boats do not come with any accessories but there is an abundance of
choices to make when trying to put together your personalized boat from a
dealership.
Many water devices are made from this type of construction. There are bridges
made from hundreds of watertight chambers of pontoon material that even heavy
vehicles can safely cross over a body of water on. There are also pontoon
platforms that aircraft can land on and take off from. There is also aircraft
that have pontoon landing gear as to land and take off from a body of water.
Luxury pontoon boats that you may want to check out are the Escapade, Grand
Majestic and the Boundary Waters. Touring pontoon boats such as the Legend,
Sunsation ES and Sunsation RE are used in the island communities such as Hawaii
and the Caribbean. Sport pontoon boats like the Gemini, Explorer, Castaway and
Alante are used in professional fishing and boating races of the not so fast
kind. The Sport Dek CL and Sport Dek FS are among the most expensive of the
luxury line of pontoon boats. They will run about forty-five thousand US
dollars.
